Miami University PoolMiami University, in Oxford, has a long tradition of athletic excellence. Not only does the university participate in the Division I Mid-American Conference, Miami stands above the crowd with its unique reputation of being the "Cradle of Coaches". Legendary football coaches Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Ara Parseghian, Weeb Ewbank, Paul Brown, and Sid Gillman have deep roots in the university's athletic past.
Miami University boasts world-class athletic facilites from all facets.
  • Millett Hall, named in honor of the university's 16th president, serves as the home of Redhawk men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and houses many of the department offices. The building also has the capability to host plays and concerts.
  • Goggin Ice Center plays home to Miami's synchronized skating team, as well as the men's hockey team, which were proudly members of the 2009 NCAA Frozen Four making it to the final game. Goggin, as it's fondly known to students and alumni alike, is a 170,000 sq. ft. ice center and can seat up to 3,200 in the Steve Cady Arena.
  • The Miami University Recreational Sports Center is a facility that offers relaxation and workout options to students, but is also capable of hosting a variety of events. The sports center features a 152,000 sq. ft. Olympic size swimming pool, leisure pool and spa, basketball and volleyball courts, a 40 ft. climbing wall, four-lane suspended track, and so much more.
  • The Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center is the world-class home of the Redhawk's swim team. Highlighted by an eight-lane, 50 meter pool, the facility also boasts a separate 25-meter well, containing one-, five-, seven-, and 10-meter platforms for diving. The aquatic center has been the host of several major and national competitions and a training facility for Olmypic divers.
